Meta title
TL;DR
The meta title is the clickable title of a web page in search results and browser tabs, usually set via the HTML title tag.
The meta title is one of the strongest ranking and click signals in SEO. It appears in the SERP as the blue heading, in browser tabs and in social shares. Ideal: 50-60 characters, primary keyword first, brand at the end.
Example
Bad: <title>Home | Webrock Media</title>. Better: <title>SEO for Bitcoin, AI & Fintech | Webrock Media</title>.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Google rewrite my meta title?
If it's duplicate, too long, keyword-stuffed or doesn't represent page content. Google then picks the H1 or another text.
